Having worked in the Greene County School District for 24-1/2 years, Marcia Roeder has decided that it is time to retire.

Roeder worked as a custodian and served as a substitute bus driver during her tenure with the district following an 18-year tenure with a non-profit daycare center in Jefferson.

Roeder says she has fond memories of the students she was able to build relationships with. While serving as a substitute bus driver for the elementary school, “a lot of times, kids would be excited to see [her] if [she] was driving their bus,” because they knew her from inside the school too.

Having had two careers in the space of 42 years, Roeder has decided to call it quits. In retirement, she will spend more time with family and friends and she looks to volunteer and travel.
